G. Ganesh v. State of Tamil Nadu – Human Trafficking, Missing Persons, Immediate FIRs, Aadhaar Identification, Anti Human Trafficking Units

Missing person cases- The Supreme Court issues a set of nationwide operational directions to strengthen the response to missing persons and human trafficking cases. It mandates immediate FIR registration for all missing person information, integration and activation of specialised anti‑trafficking mechanisms, and use of Aadhaar for identification and restoration of rescued victims. The Court clarifies the respective roles and responsibilities of the Ministry of Home Affairs, State/UT police, DCPUs, CWCs and other agencies, and insists on accountability of Nodal Officers.
